How to sublimate a sublimation 17oz White Ceramic Latte Mug with a mug press.

What do I need to print a sublimation 17oz White Ceramic Latte Mug with a mug press?

1. Mug press with a 17oz cone mug mould. 17oz mug mould
2. Mirror printed artwork.
3. Coool sublimation heat tape. 8mm sublimation tape
4. Heat resistant gloves.

Heat transfer process for a sublimation 17oz white ceramic latte mug with a mug press.

1. Before heating the press, place the blank mug in the press and adjust the pressure to ensure a firm grip. Remove the mug from the press and set the temperature to 190°C and the time to 240 seconds for a single sided print and 60 seconds for a full wrap print.
2. Measure the print area of the mug. Recommended artwork size: 265 x 130mm.
3. Mirror the image and print it on sublimation paper with Coool Sublimation ink and cut carefully.
4. Secure the print face down onto the mug with Coool Sublimation heat tape. Ensure that the paper is aligned correctly and smooth out any wrinkles and bubbles.
5. Wrap the mug in a protective paper sheet to protect your press mould.
6. Once the press reaches 190°C, place the mug firmly inside the press. Clamp the mug securely and start the timer.
7. When the time beeps after 240 seconds for single sided prints, wear heat resistant gloves and remove the mug.
8. When the timer beeps after 60 seconds on the full wrap prints, wear heat resistant gloves and rotate the mug about 90°C do this at least 4 times to ensure that the transfer was printed fully on the mug, carefully remove the mug, take caution as the mug will be extremely hot.
9. To prevent possible ghosting, allow the mug to cool down before removing the paper.

Tips and tricks to sublimate a sublimation 17oz white ceramic latte mug with a mug press.

• For more vibrant and even transfer results, on full colour prints apply extra heat tape all around the top and bottom. Also stick heat tape from the top to the bottom across the mug to ensure no lifting.
• It is advisable to preheat the mug on cold days with a heat gun especially at the bottom since a too cold mug tends to produce a faded print result at the bottom.
• This preheating process can be done after securing the paper to the mug with heat tape, just before inserting the mug into the mug mould.
