How to sublimate a sublimation 25 x 88cm polyester bar mat in a flat press.

What do I need to print a sublimation 25 x 88cm polyester bar mat in a flat press?
1. Flat heat press.
2. Mirror printed artwork.
3. Coool Sublimation heat tape. Sublimation Tape
4. Clean plain white paper or Teflon sheets. Teflon Sheet
5. Heat resistant gloves.

Heat transfer process for a sublimation 25 x 88cm polyester bar mat in a flat press.

1. Before heating the press, place the blank bar mat in the press and adjust the pressure to high pressure. Remove the bar mat from the press and set the temperature to 200°C and the time to 60 seconds.
2. Measure the print area of the bar mat. Add a bleed of at least 3mm on all 4 sides of the bar mat to ensure the mirror printed artwork will cover the print area of the bar mat completely. Recommended artwork size (including a bleed of 3mm on all 4 sides) is 866 x 236mm.
3. Mirror the image and print it on sublimation paper with Coool Sublimation ink and cut carefully.
4. Secure the print face down onto the white fabric side of the bar mat with Coool Sublimation heat tape. Ensure that the paper is aligned correctly and smooth out any wrinkles and bubbles
5. Once the press reaches 200°C, place the bar mat with the back of the printed paper facing towards the element of the press. Close the press and start the timer.

When the timer beeps, open the press slowly. Take caution as the bar mat will be extremely hot. Wear heat resistant gloves and remove the bar mat from the press. Remove the paper quickly and efficiently.

● To prevent ghosting, open the press slowly, when opening the press to fast, the paper will lift and it will cause ghosting. Be sure to remove the paper fast from
the product and not to touch the printed area with the paper after you started lifting it.
● Sometimes during heat transferring, ink residue remains on the heat press rubber or element, to prevent this from transferring to the sublimation product cover the rubber and the product with a Teflon sheet or white paper.
● It is advisable to preheat the press rubber on colder days, when the press reaches 200°C close the press for +-5 seconds without the product to heat up the rubber.
● It is advisable to use a lint roller when sublimating onto polyester fabrics. It’s crucial to ensure there is no lint or dust on the fabric before pressing. These particles can interfere with the sublimation process and affect the quality of the final print.
